A Better Way to Heal
When Hyperbaric Medical Solutions opened its doors in 2011, accessing hyperbaric oxygen therapy almost always meant going through a hospital — with long referral chains, institutional overhead, and for many patients, significant out-of-pocket cost or outright denial of access.
The therapy existed. The evidence was there. The patients who could benefit were real. But the path to care was unnecessarily hard.
We founded HMS on a straightforward premise: clinical-grade HBOT deserves to exist outside hospital walls — delivered by dedicated specialists, accepted by insurance, and genuinely accessible to the patients who need it most. Not as an adjunct service. Not as an amenity. As a focused, physician-led medical practice where HBOT is the mission.
We've since grown to five locations across three regions — with more on the way — and we've delivered more than 130,000 HBOT treatments to over 5,000 patients. What hasn't changed is why we started.
Physician-Led, Patient-Focused Services: The HMS Difference
As HBOT has grown in visibility, so has the range of settings in which it is offered — from wellness studios to hospital departments. The differences across these settings are clinically meaningful. Here's an honest look at where HMS stands.
| Wellness / Spa HBOT | Other Freestanding Clinics | Hospital-Based HBOT | ✦ HMS | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Physician Leadership & On-Site Provider | None; no clinical oversight or staff required | Varies widely — not always physician-led; provider often absent or off-site | Physician oversight present within hospital system | ✓ Always physician-led; MD, NP, or PA present at every location |
| Chamber Type & Treatment Pressure | Soft-shell; sub-therapeutic pressure (1.3–1.5 ATA) | Varies; not all use hard-shell chambers; protocols inconsistent | Hard-shell medical-grade; full therapeutic pressure | ✓ Hard-shell medical-grade monoplace chambers; full therapeutic pressure with individualized protocols |
| Insurance, Medicare & Cost | Cash pay only; no Medicare; no insurance offset | Inconsistent; many do not accept Medicare; often limited coverage | Medicare and insurance accepted; hospital facility fees apply | ✓ Medicare & most major commercial plans in-network; no hospital facility fees; fraction of hospital cost |
| Safety Protocols & Clinical Evaluation | Minimal; no standardized processes; no clinical evaluation before treatment | Varies significantly by operator; clinical intake inconsistent | Hospital-level safety standards; full medical workup required | ✓ UHMS-aligned safety processes at every site; physician consult required before every course of care |
| Hours & Access | Walk-in, variable hours | Typically weekdays only; referral processes vary | Hospital scheduling; shared system; longer lead times | ✓ Extended hours including weekends; direct scheduling; convenient locations with parking |
Not all hyperbaric providers are equal in equipment, clinical oversight, or safety standards. If you are being treated for a diagnosed medical condition, these distinctions are not administrative — they affect your outcome.

What Our Patients Say
How often do you come across a company that has all 5-star reviews? I cannot say enough about HMS and their staff. There are many benefits to HBOT and its worth finding out if it can help you. I highly recommend HMS!
This is the finest facility one could imagine. The staff here is phenomenal. Dr. Katz takes his time and explains everything and makes you comfortable. The equipment is clean and well-maintained.
Best decision for care! We made a lot of financial and personal sacrifices to have our son treated at HMS and it was absolutely the right decision. They were thorough, careful, and when an issue arose, they were able to respond knowledgeably and quickly to care for him.
Life-changing! The treatment my father received at Hyperbaric Medical Solutions has been nothing short of a miracle. We could not be more grateful for the care and attention we received.
I went to Hyperbaric Medical Solutions for vision loss and color blindness that I experienced after an eye trauma. Within one week of daily treatments my vision returned to its normal state and I was no longer color blind.
Excellent facility. Highly professional, kind staff and doctors, top notch hyperbaric chamber service. Highly recommended.
