What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is the use of prescribed high pressure oxygen to treat a variety of health conditions and diseases.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the use of prescribed high pressure oxygen to treat a variety of health conditions and diseases. Breathing pure oxygen under pressures greater than sea level increases the amount of oxygen carried by the blood, enabling the oxygen to be dissolved into the hard-to-reach plasma, lymph, and cerebrospinal fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord. These fluids more easily carry the increased oxygen to affected and damaged areas at up to 1,200% the normal concentration, thus providing a greater opportunity for healing.

How does HBOT work?

You breathe 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, which allows more oxygen to dissolve into your blood and reach damaged or inflamed tissues to speed healing.

What conditions can HBOT help treat?

HBOT is used to treat conditions like non-healing wounds, radiation tissue damage, sudden hearing loss, infections, and is often used off-label for conditions that involved inflammation, chronic pain, neurological conditions, brain injuries, autoimmune conditions and more.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe?

Yes. When performed under medical supervision, HBOT is generally safe, with minimal and manageable side effects.
